Import of r5 of "piClim-4xCO2", with 2RadCall for GHG (Tier 1, timeslice)

File size: 1.7 KB
Line
RFMIP piClim-4co2 experiment with double radiation call for GHG:
it allows calculating IRF of 4xcO2 at TOA and SRF.

    In PARAM/config.def_preind :
co2_ppm=4*co2_preind =11.3728e+02
co2_ppm_per=co2_preind =2.8432e+02

    COMP/lmdz.card points to modified files *xml stocked in PARAM:
       context_lmdz.xml_2RadCall : includes new grid "presnivs0srf" to extract only the surface (level 1) of 3D variables
       field_def_lmdz.xml_2RadCall : variables "r**4co2" in groups "TOA", "SRF" et "3D" (in which SRF is included)
       file_histday_lmdz.xml_2RadCall : output only activated for groups "TOA" and "3D"

NOTE: IRF at tropopause can't be calculated from this run,
      because the "*_tropopause" and 3D radiative variables from 1st call are absent.
      The SRF radiation values from 2nd call are those for the bottom level of the corresponding 3D variables.

      The IRF at tropopause for 4xCO2 was calculated on 1 year of run extending this one, and including all the needed variables :
      /ccc/cont003/home/gencmip6/p25sima/RFMIPi/modipsl/config/LMDZOR_v6/CM616-LR-piClim-4xCO2-5-2RadCall-IRFtropo

THE BEST thing to do in order to run a simulation allowing the calculation of IRF at tropopause,
      IS to use the *2RadCall files from piClim-histall/CM619-LR-piClim-histall-2,
      including the dedicated file_def_histmth_lmdz.xml_2RadCall_ForIRFtropo
      (with the associated adaptations in the lmdz.card for file output, post-processing and TS) :
           -> 2D radiation variables from 1st and 2nd call for TOA and SFC are output in "histmth"
           -> whereas the 3D and the *tropopause variables are output in a separate file "histmthForIRFtropo"
              that can be erased after producing TS_MO for all these variables in the post-processing.
