Spatial reductions across ranks broken

Hello, I need to get the average of field across an axis that is distributed across multiple MPI ranks.

My simple test case however gives a nonsense answers (every where std::numeric_limits<float>::max())

I suspect this is a bug in XIOS but if I am misusing this, please let me know.
