MERCATOR.1 — Finalisation of 2009 actions

Motivation: Eigth actions of the 2009 work plan have been implemented and validated. They need to be phased with the last version of NEMO, checked with NVTK, and incorporated to the trunk together with the documentation.

(5) EVP rheology in LIM2 (2 wk) NVTK and doc - v3.3
(6) On-the-fly interpolation for the initial state (3 wk) cleaning, NVTK and doc - v3.3
(7) On-line diagnostics (2 wk) cleaning, NVTK and doc - v3.3
(8) ECUME bulk formulae (3 wk) development and phasing with nemo3.2_beta ok, documentation + NVTK - v3.3

Motivation: Mellor Yamada 2,5, generic length scale (Umlauf and burchard 2003) +boundary conditions(Craig and Banner)

MERCATOR.5 — Mixed Implicit/Explicit? bottom friction

Motivation: Unconsistent bottom stress in 2d and 3d modes. From BOM code. Explicit bottom stress in barotropic equations/implicit in baroclinic equations ....
Status :Ready. Need to iterate with Gurvan with respect to recent implementation of explicit bottom friction. comit: Mid 2010

MERCATOR.7 — Simple solar penetration scheme using KPAR

Motivation: Introduce a two bands solar attenuation scheme (Rochford et al, JGR 2001), simpler and cheaper than 4 bands one. The scheme uses climatological KPAR attenuation coefficient in order to take into account the spatial variation of the light penetration in the ocean.
