- HPC WG summary (Silvia Mocavero and Mike Bell)
- Nvidia update - Stan Posey
- Perspectives on HPC software – Lucian Anton
- Thunder-X2 / Broadwell comparison – Maff Glover

== 2.   Actions and Discussion    ==

- Mirek volunteered to give a talk to the next sub-group meeting on his recent work on OpenMP directives.
- Cyril Mazauriac’s work on SIMD directives will be progressed by BULL. Sebastien Masson is the contact.
- The Claw compiler is being integrated into the Psyclone system and the OMNI compiler is now being used to convert code back to Fortran (the Claw compiler parses Fortran and converts it into xml).
- The obstacles to introducing OpenMP and OpenACC directives directly into NEMO were discussed. Tim and Claire recommended that substantive new work with OpenACC directives should start from the head of the trunk.
- The GMD paper at https://www.geosci-model-dev-discuss.net/gmd-2017-150/gmd-2017-150.pdf discusses the use of OpenMP and OpenACC directives in the NEMOLite2 mini-application.
- Maff’s presentation showed which routines in NEMO are memory bandwidth limited on Broadwell processors (for 1/12o and 1/24o GYRE integrations on a single node).
