Requirements

VARAMMA is written using unix shell scripts using NCO, IDL, Matlab or Octave.

IDL

IDL need to be completed by SAXO.

Octave

octave need to be completed by octcdf and image packages.

Minimal version is 3.2.

image package can be found downloaded via http://octave.sourceforge.net/image/index.html

octcdf package can be found downloaded via http://octave.sourceforge.net/octcdf/index.html

spline-gcvspl package can be found downloaded via http://octave.sourceforge.net/spline-gcvspl/index.html

Matlab

Matlab should be use as an alternative to octave.

Matlab to be completed by NetCDF toolbox/package.

NCO

Sphinx

Sphinx is used to build documentation in HTML, PDF and nroff formats. (cf. :ref:`builddoc`)

LaTeX

LateX is used by Sphinx to build documentation in PDF and may be used for building documentation in HTML if there are mathematical expressions in ReStructuredText documents.

Note

On MacOS, LaTeX can be installed using macport.

Following packages are needed :

  • texlive-latex-recommended
  • texlive-latex-extra
  • texlive-fonts-recommended

If some documents are written in French is used, you may need to add texlive-lang-french.
