How to use IPSLCM6 for millinum-like run ?

Model installation

  1. Start to import modIPSL: svn co http://forge.ipsl.jussieu.fr/igcmg/svn/modipsl/trunk modipsl
  2. Install the model: cd modipsl/util ; ./model IPSLCM6.1-LR
  3. If needed, add in code some diagnostics (stratomask, TAU_AER, volcanic response): procedure is describded here.
  4. Check that compiler is intel2017!!'''
  5. Compile: cd modipsl/config/LMDZOR ; gmake

NOTE: file_def_XXX.xml are taken from the model and not in PARAM subdir in default config (this could be changed in lmdz.card).

Simulation config

  1. Copy a historical config.card taken from EXPERIMENTS/ dir. Modify JobName=Pmil-mysimu and run ../../libIGCM/ins_job to create simulation directory.
  2. Go into simulation dir and modify config.card.
  3. If simulation starts before 1800 edit COMP/opa.card and modify TimeOrigin=850 to get correct oceanic ouputs.
  4. Edit COMP/orchidee.card to choose correct land use' and 'wood harvest' (starts in 850 so before this date fix to 850):

Orchidee analytic spin-up

To start simulation with orchidee's analytic spinup (for Carbon stock equilibrium) edit PARAM/orchidee.def_CWRR add or change following options:
