[AGRIF] Child Bathymetry is not correct near boundaries

I am trying to launch NEMOGCM with one nested domain. AGRIF successfully creates all the necessary files for a nested domain. But when I launch NEMOGCM I get numerous error messages

ERROR bathymetry merge at the western border ji,jj,jk 2 2 20

ptab(ji,jj,jk), fse3t(ji,jj,jk) 98.4771535602020 98.7876001251932

Child Bathymetry is not correct near boundaries.

What could be the cause of this error?

    I get the same error, though with a mix of valid and (seemingly) invalid reports of ERROR:
