Description

This ticket will contain various changes made by the NEMOVAR consortium to improve compatibility between NEMO and NEMOVAR. Changes are to the OBS code and include processing of ADCP data, treatment of gridded observations, and netcdf4 compression of feedback files.

These changes were developed outside of the NEMO consortium and I am simply implementing them. I do not have the facilities to test the new features. However, the changes should not impact upon the model dynamics, which will be tested using the SETTE tests. No other tests will be conducted.

The code will be reviewed by Anthony Weaver (aweaver)
