Description
Context
Currently the UKMO coupled atmosphere-ocean-ice model uses constant sea ice roughness length. We would like to use a roughness length based on atmospheric neutral drag coefficient over the sea ice, as calculated in CICE. This ticket documents the necessary changes to the NEMO code to pass this roughness length to the coupler for use in the Met Office UM atmosphere and JULES land surface models.

I understand this concerns changes to NEMO. Are the proposed changes useful for the main NEMO branch? If this is the case, has it been considered applying them in the main branch? If it will only be useful in limited cases, I agree it should not be in the main branch.
This is for Met Office local code so shoudn't be in a ticket on shared repository.
