Context

The shaconemo (SHAred Configurations for NEMO) forge project has been created to allow the groups using NEMO in CMIP6 to share information, files and expertise. During the building phase (2016-2018) the project was private (login opened on demand, only to experts setting up the NEMO configurations for CMIP6). The project has been quite active both in terms of changes (wiki, tickets, source and configuration files), and meetings (see ​https://forge.ipsl.jussieu.fr/shaconemo/wiki).
In 2018, most CMIP6 experiments will be on tracks, so that the question is now open on where and how to store and share the final version of this information.

Implementation plan

These questions have been discussed during the ​NEMO in CMIP6 meeting 11 October 2018 and the ​Workshop to analyse and discuss the preliminary results of NEMO-OMIP simulations in preparation for CMIP6 - 22-23 November 2018 in Paris. Preliminary conclusions:

• the forge shaconemo project is still useful as a sandbox and a place to share expertise for the CMIP6 community, both for the global 1° and 1/4° configurations. It will for now remain as it is, e.g. a shared place openf for discussion for CMIP6 developers only
• the question on how to share these two configurations once finalised remains open, not because of technical choices, but because each group has its own tuning, related to its own coupled configuration.
