Context

Using the nesting-tools to create an updated parent domain_cfg file sets jperio to 0

Analysis

In FUNCTION write_domcfg, designed to create domain_cfg files for AGRIF-child(ren), jperio is set to 0. This function is also used to create an updated parent domain_cfg file where jperio=0 is not always true.

solve ticket #2280 by adding a new namelist parameter in the NESTING namelist to account for jperio of the parent grid
