Easily done for v3_2_2 in changeset:2778

Was much harder in v3_3_1 ... see changeset:2777

1) the huge number of (useless ?) modifications of lim3 between v3_3 and v3_3_1 makes the work very hard
2) several major bugs where found in lim3 v3_3_1. Showing the the model was even not run for a single time-step before commit.
3) a very tricky bug was the use of -wp instead of _wp

We managed to get a version of LIM3 that:

  • works (or look like its works...) perfectly on local mac (gfortran) or PC (ifort)
  • generale lines of "violation of heat conservation" on IBM POWER6 at french IDRIS when compile with O3. These lines exist also in with version v3_3_0. In both cases, it disappears when compiling with O0
  • is not working on NEC SX-8 at french IDRIS (unexplained error in lim_wri)... but it works perfectly with -C debug option...

In conclusion, we committed theses bugfixs but several points in LIM3 are still looking very "strange"... To be used with caution...
