Since March 2022 along with NEMO 4.2 release, the code development moved to a self-hosted GitLab.
This present forge is now archived and remained online for history.

CNRS-1 - LIM3, Multiple tracer interface

Motivation: In order to prepare a Biogeochemical compartment in sea ice, a generic passive tracer interface will be added in LIM3

CNRS-2 - LIM3, melt ponds

Motivation: addition of melt ponds at the surface of sea-ice following the PhD work of Olivier Lecomte (2014) (UCL)

CNRS-3 - Energy trend diagnostics

Motivation: Finalize trends diagnostics (3D trends of tracers, momentum, kinetic energy and potential energy)
Status : Continuation of 2015
Main tasks :
(1) implement the 3D output (using xIOS) of tracers and momentum trends (done with validation in 2013)
(2) compute and output the 3D trends of PE and KE : vvl case to be validated
(3) documentation

CNRS-4 - LIM3, FCT4 advection scheme

Motivation: To introduce a less expensive advection scheme (in order to deal with a great number of tracers)
Rachid, using a classical test case of advection of a passive tracer, have shown that a 4th order Flux Corrected Transport (FCT4) had a behavior very close to the one of a Pather scheme, i.e. the one used in LIM. It is much cheaper as you don't have to advect second order moments in addition to the field itself.
Status : Continuation of 2015. The FCT4 scheme has been coded and tested as part of a 3D advection scheme for ocean tracers.
Main tasks :
adapt to LIM3 and test it. If it performs as expected, implement it in the current version of LIM3

CNRS-7 - Integration of a SEABASS configuration as a test case

Motivation: SEABASS is the reference configuration for Data Assimilation, included in the NEMO v3.4_STABLE version. Various data assimilation experiments have been done with this configuration, with various data assimilation systems (e.g. Cosme et al, 2011, Bouttier et al. 2014, Yin et al., 2014). In this context, this configuration appears to be useful for data assimilation users, to couple their own DA system on NEMO and compare their results with thgose obtained on this configuration. SEABASS is also easy to take in hand. Also, it allows to update the configuration status to the future version of NEMO. For these reasons, this configuration is a relevant test case for Data Assimilation.
