Description
Add the EVP rheology ( from LIM3 ) in LIM2. EVP will be the standard rheology for LIM2 and VP will have to be activated by CPP key lim2_vp .
Onw, in limdyn_2.F90 , we call limrhg.F90 or ( with lim2_vp CPP key) we call limrhg_2.F90 .
Testing
Testing could consider (where appropriate) other configurations in addition to NVTK].
NVTK Tested | '''YES''' |
Other model configurations | '''YES''' |
Processor configurations tested | [ 1*2 , 2*1 , 2*2 ] |
If adding new functionality please confirm that the New code doesn't change results when it is switched off and ''works'' when switched on | '''YES''' |
(Answering UNSURE is likely to generate further questions from reviewers.)
The new functionality (EVP rheology) is now the standard one, the old functionality ( VP rheology) is optional: key_lim2_vp .
Bit Comparability
Does this change preserve answers in your tested standard configurations (to the last bit) ? | '''YES ''' |
Does this change bit compare across various processor configurations. (1xM, Nx1 and MxN are recommended) | '''YES''' |
The NEMO_3.2 ORCA2_LIM ( with LIM2 VP) configuration is not reproductible, but NEMO_3.2 ORCA2_LIM with EVp is reproductible.
Is this change expected to preserve answers in all possible model configurations? | '''NO''' |
Is this change expected to preserve all diagnostics? ,,''Preserving answers in model runs does not necessarily imply preserved diagnostics. '' | '''NO''' |
If you answered '''NO''' to any of the above, please provide further details:
To preserve answers and to preserve all diagnostics, you just have to compile with key_lim2_vp.
System Changes
Does your change alter namelists? | '''NO ''' |
Does your change require a change in compiler options? | '''NO ''' |
Resources
There is no significative change of runtime and memory.
IPR issues
Has the code been wholly (100%) produced by NEMO developers staff working exclusively on NEMO? | '''YES/ NO ''' |
EVP has been pluged in LIM2 by NEMO developers staff. But EVP is coming from LIM3.
Vp and EVP and the effects on ORCA2-LIM2 are described in : Bouillon, S., M. A. Morales Maqueda, V. Legat and T. Fichefet (2009). An Elastic-Viscous-Plastic Sea Ice Model formulated on Arakawa B and C Grids, Ocean Modelling, 27, 174-184, doi:10.1016/j.ocemod.2009.01.004
