 Well most obvious thing is the discrepancy between branches/dev/hadax/r1205_SIMIP_GSI8@1273 and branches/dev/hadax/vn5.1.2_GSI8@1141.

+Alex says these things should be equivalent but the r1205_SIMIP_GSI8 branch is just the same as vn5.1.2_GSI8 with extra diagnostics in it for CMIP6 purposes.

+So I asked why we have 2 separate versions of the same branch and if the r1205_SIMIP_GSI8 one can be safely used in the stand-alone model. He says yes! So why aren't we doing that!? We need to get all this as seamless as we can, not have different branches when we don't need them. He says I SHOULD be able to use this in the stand alone model w/o any issues and get the same results! May try that just to be sure.
