Problem with the routing scheme for PGF forcing

Reported by: mguimberteau Owned by: jpolcher
Priority: major Milestone: ORCHIDEE 3.0
Component: Anthropogenic processes Version: trunc
Keywords: Cc:

The routing scheme fails when the simulation is performed on a latitude band.
Test performed:

  • trunk revision: rev3434 with XIOS activated
  • forcing: PGF-GPCC 1°x1°
  • 32 proc
  • latitude band: 28N-90N

Error message:
--> In the routine which make connections between the basins and ensure global coherence,
--> there is a problem with outflow linkup without any valid direction. Try with check=.TRUE.
--> (Perhaps there is a problem with the grid.)

It is not possible to run over a single latitude band any more with the trunk, see comment 5 in ticket #244

But there should have been another error message stopping the model before running into the routing scheme.

  • Summary changed from Problem with the routing scheme for a simulation on latitude band to Problem with the routing scheme for PGF forcing

The PGF forcing indeed does not provide the centre of the grid box but one of the corners. This does not work on any of our interpolations.
In the routing scheme it fails because then the routing network does not correspond to the continents any more.
So this issue needs to be fixed in PGF and not in the model.
