+Well it's because there's an iterative process in temperature_changes which then fails to converge on several PEs if iswabs is zero!

+Alex says that to get round this we also need to be zeroing fswint (or preventing it from getting non zero values. Doing that just by commenting out the setting of fswint and iswabs in absobed_solar allows things to run OK and the CICE fields seem generally OK for the first timestep after the restart but we get back to NEMO now and it all diverges again at   "RSRH H tsa temp" in NEMOGCM/NEMO/OPA_SRC/step.F90.
