Description

Context

The simulation of dense water cascading from the shelf has been shown to benefit from the use of S-coordinate and mixed S-coordinate/partial step vertical grids in Arctic simulations.
To gain maximum benefit in Antarctic simulations will require the under Ice-ShelF component to be adapted to work with the alternative vertical coordinates.
This work will address this issue and will fully test solutions in a 'PERIANT' type model of the Southern Ocean being developed under the UK 'ORCHESTRA' project.

Implementation plan

postponed to 2018
