River coding in NEMO shelf

The river code needs to be adapted so the user can specify the temperature and salinity of river output, as well as a depth to which they want the changes to affect (the current option allows fresh water at sea surface temperature to be added at the surface and then vertical mixing can be increased to spread the effects down). This will be coded for use with both linear and non-linear free surface options.

Enda O'dea and Gurvan Madec will both review the code.

We will test it by running the code and outputting temperature and salinity values at specific points to ensure the code is reducing salinity etc, as expected. We will then assess the overall contribution of river inputs to the code by comparing with POLCOMS, and as part of the Shelf validation process.

The code will also be tested by running it through the NVTK.

The code has been written and tested, attached are the changed modules, and a word document (River_runoff_code.doc) describing the changes that have been made, and the testing that has been done. The code was reviewed by John Siddorn, and was sent to Gurvan Madec.
